While I

One pushes up
The daisies.
The other is
Grasping at straws.
While I
Sit with anhedonia.

The one that I want
Gardens.
While the other
Refutes responsibility
Pleading propinquity.
All while I am
Merely subsisting.

Her soiled hands
Taught me to garden
With the compost
Of the others.
Now I sit in this shed
Alone with the soiled gloves that rest.

While she pushes up the daisies
The other is
 Sending spoiled seedlings
Trying to pry this door.
While I sit
And refuse the other's pesticides
Behind the latch
Rusting shut.

Will the shed
Become me?
Or will the garden we built
Poison the other?
