**Torn In Two**

I found it peculiar,  
Watching your crimson release.  
Someone flipped the switch—  
It's disturbingly serene in here.  
A mechanical override,  
Settling into stoic silence. 

Emerging, someone new.  
She took care of you.  
A stranger to me,  
Asking nothing of you.   
Efficient, she leaves,  
As quick as she arrived. 

Her departure  
Returns me—to counting shadows.
